COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations honored four of its members with Silver Spark Plug Awards at the council’s Oct. 17 industry luncheon.
The awards are intended to recognize long periods of contribution to the council; no one with fewer than five years’ membership is eligible. All recipients have been active in TMC’s various study groups and task forces.
Nominations are made at large by the membership and are rarely linked to a specific achievement.
The honorees were James Salas of Ryder System Inc. (R), Robert Tanis of Cognis Corp., Sam Cross of Condor Freight Lines and Paul Martin, assistant chief of the Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department in New Salisbury, Ind.
Also honored was Lew Flowers, vehicle maintenance manager of the Oklahoma district office of the U.S. Postal Service, who received the Peggy Fisher Study Group Leadership Award.
The group’s fall meeting was held here at the Hyatt Regency on Oct. 16-19.
