Freightliner Cascadia Sleeper Cab Available With Natural-Gas Technology
Freightliner Trucks said its Cascadia natural gas-powered tractors will be available with a 48-inch sleeper cab, with factory-installed compressed natural gas or liquefied natural gas tanks.
Equipped with Cummins Westport’s ISX12 G heavy-duty natural-gas engine, the tractor will feature a variety of fuel tank configurations, with up to 190 diesel gallon equivalent capacity for CNG and up to 300-gallon (140 diesel gallon equivalent) capacity for LNG, with a fill-range of more than 800 miles.
With expanded natural-gas fuel tank capacities and available sleeper cab, Freightliner said the configuration will give fleets the option to haul freight greater distances.
