The nation’s top Class 8 truck maker announced a technology-laden model — the Century S/T — in September (10-18, p. 3). Anti-rollover systems, lane-tracking devices, brakes and truck productivity computers will be built into the vehicle.

Moreover, the S/T announcement builds on a promise by James L. Hebe, president of Freightliner Corp., to lead the industry into a safer future.
