Gaines Appointed CFO of YRC Inc.

Phil Gaines was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of YRC Inc., the national less-than-truckload operating subsidiary of YRC Worldwide, the company said.

Gaines will report to Mike Smid, president of the national LTL unit and chief operations officer for the parent company, YRC said in a statement Friday.

Gaines was most recently senior vice president of finance at YRC Inc. He has worked at the company, and its predecessor Yellow Transportation, for 22 years in various financial positions.

William Trubeck, executive vice president and interim CFO of the parent company, will remain in that role. He replaced Sheila Taylor, whose resignation from YRC was effective March 31. Trubeck is the fourth person in 31 months to hold the CFO position at YRC.
