Gas Jumps 16¢ in Two Weeks, to $3.47, Lundberg Says

Gasoline prices jumped nearly 16 cents in the past two weeks, to $3.47 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Mid-grade averaged $3.59 and premium was $3.70, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her latest survey, which is released twice a month. The latest survey covered the two-week period ended Friday.

The lowest price was in Newark, N.J., at $3.21 a gallon, while the highest was in San Francisco, at $3.88, Lundberg said.

The U.S. Department of Energy comes out with its weekly survey of gasoline and diesel prices Monday afternoon.

Oil hit repeated records last week, reaching a record $117 a barrel on Friday.
