Gasoline Dips to $3.83, Lundberg Reports
Gasoline declined almost half a cent in the past two weeks to $3.83 a gallon, the first downturn since July, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.
Midgrade’s average price is $4 and premium’s price is $4.12, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey, which covered the two-week period ended Friday.
Diesel held at about $4.14, the survey said, according to the Associated Press.
The gasoline dip followed a decline in oil prices, which fell more than $6 last week, Bloomberg reported.
Crude futures closed Friday at $92.89 a barrel — down from $99 a week earlier, which was a four-month high on the New York Mercantile Exchange, according to Bloomberg figures.
Chicago had the most expensive gasoline with an average price of $4.25 a gallon, while Jackson, Miss., was cheapest among cities surveyed, at $3.51, Lundberg said.
The Department of Energy will release its weekly survey of diesel and gasoline pump prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
