Gasoline Plunges to $3.85

U.S. gasoline pump prices plunged 15 cents in the past two weeks to $3.85 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Mid-grade averaged $3.98 and premium $4.10 for the week ended Friday, analyst Trilby Lundberg said in her twice-monthly survey of filling stations.

Crude oil prices have dropped $30 since mid-July, closing Friday at $115.30 from a record closing price $145.18 on July 14.

The highest price for was $4.37 a gallon in Anchorage, Alaska, while the lowest was in Tulsa, Okla., at $3.50.



The Energy Department comes out with its weekly survey Monday afternoon in Washington.
