Group Changes Dues Structure

Switching from a sliding scale to a flat rate for dues at the National Private Truck Council will cost more for shippers with small private truck fleets, while lightening the load for large fleet operators.

Those with small fleets will see their membership dues increase as much as 88% under a new dues structure unveiled March 14 at the council’s headquarters in Alexandria, Va. In contrast, large fleets will see their membership costs decline by a maximum 61%, according to the simplification scheme approved by NPTC’s board of directors.

Dues for all fleet members are now $650, regardless of the number of trucks that a member firm operates. This uniform pricing policy replaces the council’s former structure, in which annual dues varied between $350 and $1,650, depending on the number of trucks in a fleet.

The change results in a dues increase for 41% of NPTC’s members.
