With Origin, Haven hopes to fix what long has been a disorganized process for shippers, according to a press release. Citing customer data, the company stated that, historically, teams have spent an average of eight hours per shipment managing the process and their booking details.

“Origin ends decades of convoluted, error-prone and expensive booking processes,” Haven CEO and co-founder Matt Tillman said. “For the first time, [Beneficial Cargo Owners] and their providers will collaborate on a carrier-neutral platform without either party getting hit with unnecessary booking fees.”

The platform gives shippers a way to book shipments for their customers or on their own behalf. Customers invite team members to start collaborating on bookings in a manner that is consistent across all freight and logistics providers. Customers will have unlimited access to key transportation documents, such as confirmation, shipping instructions and bill of lading, which can be previewed, and downloaded at any time.

Haven, which has headquarters in San Francisco, looks to help international shippers modernize logistics with automation, collaboration and visibility solutions. It also operates offices in Singapore and Switzerland.
