Heartland Express Reports 3Q Income Improves
Heartland Express’ third-quarter profit rose to $18.7 million, or 19 cents a share, from $17.1 million, or 18 cents, a year ago.
Revenue rose 15.9% to $169.9 million, the company said in a statement Monday.
As previously announced, Heartland began a tractor fleet upgrade in the quarter, expected to include the about 1,600 new International ProStar tractors, in which it will take delivery from the third quarter just ended through 2009.
Heartland Express is ranked No. 44 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire trucking companies.
