Heavy-duty truck sales increased by 6.1% in July, enough to keep annual sales on pace to set a new record, even though the acceleration in volume is slowing.
Original equipment manufacturers moved 22,336 Class 8 vehicles in the United States last month, compared with 21,043 heavy trucks in July 2005, according to the latest monthly survey by Wardsauto.com.For the first seven months of the year, truck makers have sold 162,545 Class 8s, a gain of 14.4% over the 142,096 units moved during the same time last year.
