A roundtable discussion on the transportation policy priorities of state and local governments will be held March 13 by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
The committee has been holding a series of such informal discussions in connection with its work this year on a new transportation reauthorization bill. The current two-year funding law, MAP-21, expires Sept. 30.
Local and state government representatives scheduled to speak at the event are: Frederick “Bud” Wright, executive director, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials; Michael Melaniphy, president of the American Public Transportation Association; DeLania Hardy, executive director of the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations; and Matthew Chase, executive director of the National Association of Counties.
On March 12, the panel’s subcommittee will hear from federal Department of Transportation officials about their requests for the next highway funding bill.
