Hub Group introduced enhanced end-to-end visibility, which the trucking and supply chain company said will deliver real-time estimated-time-of-arrivals, unveiling the new options May 16.
Oak Brook, Ill.-based Hub Group said it is using its GPS-equipped container fleet, railroad data and a combination of artificial intelligence and machine-learning technology to provide accuracy.
Machine learning allows Hub Group to constantly analyze the transit of freight, considering more than 10 million data points to provide continuous, real-time arrival updates, the company said. As the supply chain grows increasingly complex, Hub Group customers need accuracy and visibility at every step, according to CEO David Yeager.
Hub Group said its extensive data capture and use of Internet of Things technology allows for a more in-depth look at ETAs and estimated time to ground through the lens of historical and real-time data. Inputs are continually updated based on variables including transit events, truck speed, traffic and weather conditions, the company said.
