I-5 Closures to Begin Friday in Sacramento

California work crews will close parts of Interstate 5 in Sacramento starting Friday, the California Department of Transportation said on its Web site.

Lane closures will take place north of I-80 in Sacramento starting Friday night at 8 p.m. local time, Caltrans said.

Many long-haul truckers said Monday they had no idea about the upcoming closures, television station KCRA reported on its Web site.

Trucks will need to head west on Interstate 80 and then take Highway 113 north as a detour, according to Caltrans.
