Opposing interests in Idaho have reached a compromise regarding commercial vehicle registration fees with the enactment of a bill revising the fee scale.
The bill, signed into law by Gov. Dirk Kempthorne April 9, adds two more classes of miles driven to the payment scale.
Where there were previously only three categories — up to 7,500 miles, 7,501-50,000 miles and 50,001 or more — there are now five. The new scale has divisions from 7,501-20,000, 20,001-35,000 and 35,001-50,000 miles.
