PHILADELPHIA — Idle Smart will soon offer a new version of its idle-management platform based on the Android operating system, which enables remote device management and performance monitoring.
Idle Smart’s system is designed to help fleets boost efficiency by actively managing engine idle time and battery voltage levels while helping to prevent cold starts in the winter.
The new Android platform, set to become available in January, will provide fleets with immediate performance data and enable them to change system parameters remotely.
“Whether it’s frequent starts due to a degraded battery, or too much idle time based on the truck’s specific route, our new Idle Smart platform allows fleet managers to see issues immediately and instantly make the necessary changes,” Idle Smart President Jeff Lynch said.
Idle Smart said it is taking orders for 2016 purchases of the Android-based product.
The company said it will maintain a pricing structure ranging from $900 to $2,500 per unit, based on volume.
