Import Prices Rise 0.3% in January

The price of goods imported to the United States rose 0.3% in January, the second increase in six months, the Labor Department said Tuesday.

Prices excluding petroleum edged up 0.1%.

The overall increase followed a 0.1% dip in December.

The gain matched economists’ median forecast, Bloomberg reported.



U.S. export prices rose 0.2%, following a 0.5% drop in December, Labor said.
