Import Prices Rise 1.7% in November

The price of goods imported to the United States rose 1.7% in November, the most in five month, the Labor Department said Friday.

The increase followed a revised 0.8% increase in October, which was revised from an initially reported 0.7%, Labor said.

Prices excluding fuels rose 0.7%. Export prices rose 0.8% after a 0.2% gain in October.

Economists had forecast import prices would rise 1.2%, Bloomberg reported.
