Initial Jobless Claims Dip 27,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims fell last week by 27,000 following a big increase the previous week, the Labor Department said Thursday.The decline to 332,000 new claims above economists’ forecasts of 325,000, Bloomberg reported.The less-volatile four-week moving average rose to 328,000 from 326,750, Labor said.The number of people continuing to collect benefits dipped by 45,000 to 2.509 million for the previous week ended Feb. 10, Labor said.
