Initial Jobless Claims Fall 12,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 12,000 last week to the lowest level in more than a month, the Labor Department said Thursday.The decline to 318,000 new claims was below economists’ forecasts of no change from the previous week, Bloomberg reported. The less-volatile four-week moving average fell to 329,250 from 339,500 the previous week.The number of people continuing to collect benefits rose to 2.576 million from 2.528 million the previous week ended March 3, Labor reported.
