Intelligence Exchange Is Vision Behind Peoplenet Web Offering

LAS VEGAS — Trucking companies can pinpoint the locations of the trucks in their fleets, find the most economical places to buy fuel, match loads, calculate taxes and perform a variety of other functions over an Internet-based system unveiled here June 27 by Peoplenet Communications.

The day before the opening of the International Trucking Show, Peoplenet President John Sarto called Intouch G2X “a revolution in fleet communications and tracking systems — effective and affordable.”

The product’s name is a sort of code for intelligent information exchange. It is derived from military jargon, where G2 means intelligence information and X stands for exchange.
