International Introduces Enhanced Truck and Body Electronics
International Truck has introduced a new body control module to improve the processing speed and expand the capabilities of its truck and body electronics for medium-duty and vocational vehicles.
The module, set to enter production in November, will enable the company’s Diamond Logic electrical system to provide additional features, including real-time starting and automatic start-stop.
With real-time starting, customers can program their trucks to start prior to the driver’s arrival at a specific time each day to ensure that the vehicle is ready for operation, thus increasing productivity, the company said.
The auto start-stop feature reduces idle time and saves fuel, while allowing vocational operators to recharge batteries automatically or heat the cab for drivers without continuously running the engine.
International made the announcement March 4 at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.
All International medium-duty and vocational trucks come equipped with the Diamond Logic electrical system, the company said.
International brand trucks are built by Navistar International Corp., which also manufactures engines and buses.
