Interstate Distributor Co. to Acquire 10 LNG- Powered Trucks
Interstate Distributor Co. signed an agreement to purchase 10 liquefied natural gas-powered Kenworth trucks after a demo program.
The company tested the use of LNG trucks through a program with natural-gas fueling company Blu., which operates 24 stations.
“Our unique truck demo program offers customers like Interstate Distributor a great opportunity to see firsthand how LNG is the ideal alternative to diesel,” Blu. CEO Merritt Norton said in a statement.
“LNG is low-cost, efficient and provides trucks the range they need to get the job done,” Norton said.
Blu. has a fleet of LNG trucks to offer companies the chance to test the alternative fuel before committing to a long-term agreement.
“This new agreement with Interstate comes as a result of their real-world experience with the benefits of LNG-fueled trucks,” Norton said.
Interstate ranks No. 73 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
