J.B. Hunt Acquires Mass Movement to Expand Final-Mile Offerings

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. acquired the assets of Mass Movement, the company announced Nov. 30. Mass Movement provides deliveries for the commercial fitness industry.

The transaction marks J.B. Hunt’s fourth acquisition since 2017 in an effort to expand final-mile services. The Lowell, Ark., company already has 117 locations and more than 3.4 million square feet of warehouse and facility space that supports final-mile operations.

“Mass Movement presents an opportunity to expand our expertise in the final-mile delivery of big and bulky products,” J.B. Hunt CEO John Roberts said in a statement. “The acquisition complements our current service and will enhance our ability to meet the growing demand of customers in the commercial health and fitness industry.”

Mass Movement has more than two decades of experience providing logistics, delivery, assembly and installation services for the commercial fitness industry. The company finished with $29 million in revenue in 2019. Dom Simonetti and Jim Sullivan founded Mass Movement in 1996. They will continue in their leadership roles as employees of J.B. Hunt.

In 2019, J.B. Hunt acquired the assets of RDI Last Mile Co. and Cory 1st Choice Home Delivery The company also purchased Special Logistics Dedicated in 2017.

The Mass Movement acquisition was funded using cash on hand.
