J.B. Hunt Transport Services said it has elected Doug Duncan, former president of FedEx Freight, to its board of directors.

Hunt added a seat to its board in order to elect Duncan, the truckload and intermodal carrier said in a statement.

Duncan retired as president of FedEx Freight, the less-than-truckload unit of FedEx Corp., effective Sunday. William Logue succeeded Duncan, who was the founding chief executive officer of FedEx Freight.

Duncan, 59, has worked in the transportation industry for 30 years, Hunt said.

J.B. hunt is ranked No. 8 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
