Jobless Claims Fall 10,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 10,000 last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.

The dip to 308,000 new claims was below economists’ forecasts of a rise to 320,000 from the previous week, Bloomberg reported.

The less-volatile four-week moving average fell to 316,750 from 324,000 the previous week.

The number of people continuing to collect benefits rose to 2.527 million from 2.495 for the previous week ended March 17, Labor reported.
