Mack Trucks announced dealer Kriete Truck Centers invested $6 million in a new building at its Racine, Wis., location, doubling the amount of service bays at the facility.
The Mack Certified Uptime Dealer location — meaning it has amplified customer service and uptime — also will add a mezzanine in October to double its parts warehouse capacity, according to Greensboro, N.C.-based Mack, a unit of Volvo Group.
The Racine facility, opened in 2005, offers $2 million in parts inventory and consists of two buildings. One is the new 25,000-square-foot expansion, designed to extend Kriete’s management of concrete pump service and support in working with Putzmeister, a global leader in concrete, underground, mortar and industrial technologies. The North American headquarters for Putzmeister America is located nearby in Sturtevant, Wis.
Kriete’s new building enables the dealer to expand retail service and body shop business to include collision repair and body painting, doubling its previous capacity. The facility has 15 bays, and Kriete plans to add 40 service technicians to manage the increased workload.
“It’s one of Kriete Truck Centers’ core missions to be the very best steward of the Mack Trucks brand,” CEO David Kriete said in a company release. “This expansion provides a state-of-the-art facility to better serve Kriete and Mack network customers, and to keep them on the road and help their businesses remain successful.” — Transport Topics
