Kriska Transportation Acquires Trailwood Transport, Nexus Freight

Kriska Transportation Group acquired Trailwood Transport Ltd. and Nexus Freight Ltd., both of Alliston, Ontario, according to an Oct. 1 news release.
Trailwood and Nexus will be led by General Manager Lorie Thompson and current management teams, Kriska officials said. Mark Beckstead, Trailwood’s former owner, will represent the company going forward with a focus on maintaining key customer relationships and growth.

Trailwood has expertise in the automotive industry, Kriska CEO Mark Seymour said, while Nexus gives local capacity to help current network needs.
Trailwood, founded in 1984, is a family-owned transportation company that offers domestic and cross-border truckload services, specializing in the automotive industry. Trailwood operates a fleet of 112 power units, 69 company trucks and 43 owner-operators. It has 385 dry-van trailers, Kriska officials said.
Nexus is a cartage carrier servicing southern Ontario with both 53-foot dry vans as well as a small fleet of straight trucks. It operates 20 power units and 12 trailers driven by company drivers and owner-operators.
Kriska is a transportation and logistics company based in Prescott, Ontario. It owns a number of businesses focused on cross-border, truckload freight and logistics.
