LaHood Takes Position at Nonprofit Group

Former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has taken a position as a senior adviser with the Dirksen Congressional Center, a nonprofit group that helps educate people about Congress, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.

LaHood, who served as transportation secretary for more than four years until he stepped down in June, was succeeded by Anthony Foxx.

Prior to that, he was a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives for 14 years, representing the Peoria, Ill., area.

LaHood sits on the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics Board of Advisors, the Post reported.
