Landstar Agent Momentum Transportation Expands Intermodal Services With Acquisition

Momentum Transportation USA Inc., an independent agent for truckload carrier Landstar System, has acquired Get Fr8 Inc., a logistics firm that specializes in intermodal freight.

Terms were not disclosed. All three companies are based in Jackonville, Florida.

“The integration of Get Fr8 with the Momentum team substantially adds to our intermodal capabilities,” Momentum Transportation President Brian Putzke said in a statement Jan. 4. “In addition, their track record of excellence in customer satisfaction aligns well with Momentum’s.”

Get Fr8 was started in January 2014 and grew rapidly in its first two years, Momentum said.

Momentum provides truckload and less-than-truckload freight service, air cargo and cross-border transportation, and ocean freight and customs brokerage services. The company has been a sales agent for Landstar since 2001.
