Leading Indicators Decline in October

The index of leading economic indicators fell in October, the New York-based Conference Board said Wednesday.

The 0.5% downturn followed a 0.1% gain in September that was smaller than previously estimated, the group said in its monthly report.

Economists had forecast the indicators to fall 0.3%, Bloomberg reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.
