LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Love’s Travel Stops plans to add 11 more compressed natural gas fueling stations to its national heavy-duty truck network, company officials said here.
The national truckstop chain already has two heavy-duty CNG operating stations — one in Houston and one in its corporate home of Oklahoma City.
Most of the planned new fast-fill units will be in or near Texas, with an outlier in Burbank, Ohio, said Sam Crites, Love’s manager of natural gas marketing.
“We think for [CNG] to work, stations need to be in truck lanes,” Crites said here at the Mid-America Trucking Show.
The fuel is most targeted at dedicated fleets who operate regular runs, Crites said, adding that a primary route is the Texas to Michigan corridor in which trucks run auto parts up from Mexico to Detroit.
