LTD Purchase Reflects Forward Air’s New Plan
Forward Air Corp. has agreed to acquire the air cargo operations of LTD Express of Nashville, Tenn.
In September, Forward Air picked up the air cargo assets of Quick Delivery Service of Mobile, Ala., which is expected to boost the company’s business across the South (10-4, p. 11).

It is the second acquisition in the past month for Forward Air and reflects an aggressive new strategy by the Greeneville, Tenn.-based company to consolidate its position in the business of providing time-definite ground transportation services for air freight forwarders and airlines.

LTD operates in many of the same markets as Quick Delivery and Forward Air, including Atlanta; Miami, Orlando and Tampa, Fla.; Nashville and Memphis, Tenn.; Jackson, Miss.; Little Rock, Ark.; Cincinnati; Dallas and Chicago.
