Union machinists for Freightliner in Portland, Ore., voted to end their week-long strike against the truck maker, the Oregonian newspaper reported Tuesday.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers voted 461-153 on Monday to accept a three-year contract to end the strike that had stalled work at Freightliner’s most labor-intensive truck plant, the paper said.

In a statement, Freightliner said production at the Swan Island truck making plant would resume Tuesday. The plant employs about 1,000, including 670 union machinists.

The biggest change between the company’s offer last week, which machinists rejected, and the offer accepted Monday, came down to job-security concerns, the paper said.

Freightliner’s three other trade unions ratified contracts last week, the Oregonian said.
