Mack Trucks announced customers can now order a Mack mDRIVE HD automated manual transmission in Mack TerraPro cabover concrete pumpers powered by the 13-liter Mack MP8 engine.
The mDRIVE HD paired with the MP8 engine delivers up to 505 horsepower and 1,860 pound-feet of torque, according to the Greensboro, N.C.-based company, a unit of Volvo Group.
Among its features the mDRIVE HD offers Rock Free, which allows drivers to free stuck vehicles by rocking the truck back and forth by pumping the accelerator. It also has Auto Neutral, which improves job site safety by automatically putting the mDRIVE into neutral when the parking brake is set.
The Mack MP8 engine and mDRIVE HD are monitored by Mack GuardDog Connect, Mack’s integrated telematics solution that monitors critical fault codes. — Transport Topics
