Maintenance Meeting Features 96 Task Force Sessions

AMPA, Fla. — A total of 96 task force sessions were held here during the Technology & Maintenance Council’s annual meeting, focusing on topics that included cleaning diesel particulate filters, documenting maintenance costs on a per-mile basis and benchmarking information-technology systems.

Sessions also covered the equipment, maintenance or information-technology issues surrounding, for example, tires and wheels, chassis, engines, vehicle electronics and cab-and-control issues.

TMC said its task forces are intended to investigate and correct industry problems by developing recommended practices that serve as industry guidelines. A council of American Trucking Associations, TMC also produces position papers on issues for task forces to discuss.
