Marten’s 4Q Income Improves

Refrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport’s fourth-quarter net income rose to $5.8 million, or 27 cents a share, from $3 million, or 14 cents a year ago.

Operating revenue from trucking and logistics operations rose 3.1%, to $140.4 million, the company said late Tuesday.

Truckload revenue fell 5.9% to $115.9 million, while logistics revenue, including brokerage and intermodal operations, increased 12.9% from a year earlier, to $24.4 million.

For the full year, Marten earned $18 million, or 82 cents a share, up from $15 million, or 68 cents, a year earlier.



Marten is ranked No. 47 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
