May Trailer Orders Jump 52%
May trailer orders jumped 52% from the year-ago level, continuing the strong growth trend seen throughout 2014, ACT Research reported.
U.S. trailer makers received 22,308 net orders last month, compared with just 14,655 in May 2013, ACT said.
Although net orders increased from year-ago levels, they declined 16% from April’s total as the typical season for elevated order activity came to a close.
Through five months, total 2014 trailer orders are tracking 45% ahead of last year’s pace.
