Michelin Offers Two New Tire Products

Louisville, Ky. — Michelin Americas Truck Tires introduced two new products here at the Mid-America Trucking Show that it said will help fleets boost fuel efficiency.

The tire maker unveiled its X Line Energy T and the X Line Energy D Pre-Mold retread for linehaul operations.

The Energy T tire will be available in May and will offer a 10% reduction in rolling resistance, Michelin said. 

“By utilizing state-of-the-art compounding and an engineered shoulder groove, Michelin X Line Energy T tire provides a no-compromise answer for fuel efficiency with exceptional mileage and durability,” said Ted Becker, Michelin’s vice president of marketing.

The retread is verified under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program and “delivers exceptional fuel economy with breakthrough levels of tread life and outstanding traction,” Michelin said.
