CRST has appointed Mike Gannon as its newest president and CEO, the company announced Aug. 23.
Gannon has worked for the freight transportation company for more than four decades, most recently as chief operations officer. His promotion is effective immediately, and follows the retirement of outgoing CEO Hugh Ekberg.
“I am honored to lead Team CRST,” Gannon said. “Every decision that we make and every mile that we travel is grounded in our core values of safety, integrity and a commitment to the success of every employee, customer and community in which we operate.”
Gannon’s career at CRST began in 1983, and he has worked his way progressively through a variety of leadership roles.
“The CRST board is pleased to have Mike take on this role as the culmination of his tenured career with CRST,” said John Smith, company owner and chairman of the board.
CRST ranks No. 25 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.
