Dennis Morgan has been promoted to the president’s post at Cowan Systems, where Joseph Cowan will remain chairman and CEO.
Baltimore-based Cowan said in a statement that the change, effective Jan. 1, completes a leadership transition at the dedicated truckload, logistics and warehousing company. Morgan was chief operating officer, his latest position in a 36-year career at the company, which ranks No. 67 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
“As Cowan opens this new chapter, I am confident that Dennis is the right person to continue the growth of our company,” Cowan said. “We believe his knowledge of and passion for the transportation industry will help ensure the success of all our businesses.”
Previously, Morgan also served as the carrier’s chief financial officer and chief information officer.
“I am honored to have been asked to take this role, and excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in our future,” Morgan said. “I am committed to helping our customers and employee partners meet their ever-changing needs.”
