Motorcity Systems and Orbcomm Inc. have formed a technology integration partnership to better connect Orbcomm’s truck and trailer telematics systems with various transportation management systems used by motor carriers.
Motorcity’s Torque integration network, a cloud-based middleware platform, connects with multiple TMS products to streamline integrations with other technologies and systems.
Orbcomm’s partnership with Motorcity will make it easier for fleets to access in-cab and equipment information from Orbcomm directly in their native operating systems, the companies said in a joint announcement.

“Our partnership with Orbcomm furthers our mission to provide transportation companies and their partners with a rich and seamless network of integrated solutions,” Bob Stemple, Motorcity Systems’ co-founder and president, said in the announcement.
These integration capabilities will enable fleets to improve functions such as dispatch-driver messaging, workflows and safety monitoring, the companies added.
“By partnering with Motorcity Systems, we have gained new, advanced integration capabilities that improve the functionality and features of our smart truck and trailer solutions,” said Gregg Plonisch, senior vice president at Orbcomm. “As a result, we can provide our customers with more in-depth, nose-to-tail telematics insights, improving visibility to their fleet operations.”
