Technology startup MyLumper has introduced an electronic payment platform for lumper fees designed to reduce driver stress and prevent fraud.
The web- and smartphone-based platform, launched in November, enables carriers, shippers and third-party logistics firms to instantly send and receive payments for the services of lumpers, workers who help the driver load and unload freight.
These electronic payments are aimed at reducing detention time for drivers while eliminating the need for them to call dispatch or carry cash for lumper charges.
“In my many of years of working in this industry, a constant source of frustration has been the unsecure, time-consuming lumper payment process, which often causes delay and disrupts the loading process,” said Akmann Van-Mary, MyLumper’s founder and CEO.
All parties can view their transactions and receipts online.
