National Truck Protection Inc. launched extended coverage for self-powered refrigeration units on medium-duty trucks.
The new plan will cover units from Carrier and Thermo King for up to two additional years, according to the Cranford, N.J.-based company.
The extended plan includes 28 internally lubricated engine components contained within the refrigeration unit as well as coverage for the compressor, the company said. Also the company will provide the same 24/7/365 service for these units as it does for all of its other diesel and specialized service contracts.
“Now refrigerated carriers can purchase [used] vehicles with greater confidence, as one of the most critical operating components of their vehicle will have iron-clad protection,” National Truck Protection CEO Robert Amico said in a statement.
Buyers can add this coverage to their drive-train service plans and receive a complete package of comprehensive protection, it said.
National Truck Protection is an independent provider of warranty and service contracts to the North American trucking industry. — Transport Topics
