ST. PETERSBURG BEACH, Fla. — The North American Trucking Industrial Relations Association, in a move aimed at helping to expand its membership and broaden its portfolio of employee relations issues, adopted a new name — the North American Transportation Employee Relations Association.

The name change was approved by the association’s board of directors on Nov. 11.
Steven H. Newhouse, vice president of human resources for Watkins Motor Lines in Lakeland, Fla., and chairman of the board of Natera, said the goal of the association is to serve “a broader cross section of professionals who are dedicated to the management of human resources in all transportation companies, not just trucking.”
