LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Navistar International Corp. said here Wednesday that deliveries of ProStar tractors with MaxxForce 13 engines equipped with Cummins Inc.’s aftertreatment technology will begin in late April.
“This signals yet another key milestone in our operating plan and further demonstrates our commitment to delivering value for our customers,” said Jack Allen, Navistar’s president of North America truck and parts.
The truck with the 13-liter engine and selective catalytic reduction technology from Cummins was on display here at the Mid-America Trucking Show.
Navistar’s remaining lineup of International truck models will transition to SCR during 2013, the company said.
Navistar began emphasizing its use of Cummins ISX 15 engines as an option on ProStar tractors late last year.
Also on the show floor, Navistar displayed “Project Horizon,” a concept truck showcasing design and component improvements it said could come on the market in the next 24 to 36 months.
