Navistar International Corp. announced on April 13 the 30th anniversary of Fleet Charge, its private label purchasing card program.

Fleet Charge provides customers with guaranteed pricing, consolidated billing and a dedicated credit line. It is accepted at more than 650 dealer locations in the United States and Canada.

Navistar, the Lisle, Ill-based parent of the International truck brand, said the program was the first of its kind in the trucking industry and initially was marketed to large fleets.

In the meantime, Navistar has added Fleet Charge Select and Fleet Charge Advantage, which provide similar benefits to midsize and small fleets. As of April 1, new customers can apply for Fleet Charge accounts online.

“We continue to refine the program based on customer feedback, and this has resulted in Fleet Charge being one of the key weapons in our arsenal as we pursue aggressive retail sales growth, with all sizes of customer,” Michael Cancelliere, senior vice president of global parts and customer service, said in a statement.

The program has more than doubled in size since the 20th anniversary and includes more than 2,000 truck or bus fleets. Membership is expected to double the again by its 35th anniversary, according to Navistar.
