Nikola Motor Hires Jonathan Spira as Chief Financial Officer

Nikola Motor Co., the startup planning on building electric heavy-duty trucks, has hired Jonathan Spira as chief financial officer as it initiates its next round of funding.

Spira most recently was CFO at Untangle Inc., a security software and appliance company, where he led three acquisitions and its sale to Providence Equity, according to Nikola.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to join Nikola Motor and help drive its expansion into the Class ruck market,” Spira said in a statement. “Nikola Motor’s groundbreaking technology, together with the strong value its technology will provide to customers, gives the company extraordinary disruptive potential in the heavy-duty truck market.”



Spira also has held senior finance and planning positions at Walt Disney Co., PepsiCo Inc. and Nestlé Food Co.
