No Excuses: Shippers Demand Removal of Roadblocks

NAPLES, Fla. — Some of the nation’s largest shippers stated clearly what they are looking for from their transportation companies: quick access to lots of information about their freight and a commitment to high-quality service that rises above the lackadaisical.

In workshops at a meeting here of the National Small Shipments Traffic Conference, executives from General Electric, Best Buy Co., Lowe’s Home Improvement and The Gap told how they work their transportation vendors — some of the largest less-than-truckload carriers in the nation.
