NPTC Honors Hall of Fame Drivers, Safest Fleets
Drivers inducted into the NPTC/Lytx Inc. Hall of Fame are:
• Bradley Conn of Somerset, Pennsylvania, a driver for CVS Transportation Inc.
• Michael Grabowski of Ootleweh, Tennessee, a driver for CPC Logistics assigned to Walgreens
• Arthur Stephens of Mentor, Ohio, a driver for CPC Logistics assigned to Avery Dennison
• Wildon Renn III of Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania, a driver for Contract Transportation Systems, a unit of The Sherwin Williams Co.
Each Hall of Fame recipient has driven a truck accident-free and without any moving violation for at least three decades. Conn followed in the footsteps of his father and started hauling livestock at the age of 16. Grabowski is a Navy veteran and mentors new drivers. Stephens learned to drive on a family farm and has driven 4.95 million miles over 55 years. Renn began driving in 1981 and is a frequent participant and winner in Sherwin Williams’ National Truck Roadeo.
NPTC also recognized fleets for having the best overall safety record in 2015 in four categories. They are:
• Local Operations: Blain Supply Inc. and Clinton’s Ditch Coop Co.
• Regional Operations: AEP Industries Inc. and American Proteins Inc.
• Small Fleet (less than 50 vehicles): FTC Transport and Metal Exchange Corp.
• Large Fleet (50 vehicles or more): Hillyard Inc., Baxter Healthcare Supply Chain and J&B Group.
A number of fleets were also recognized for having the most improved safety record in 2015. They include:
• Air Liquide Industrial U.S., ADM Trucking and AEP Industries for having zero accidents in the past year
• ADM Trucking, Frito-Lay Inc., Koch Foods, Orgill Transportation Co. and Walgreen Oshkosh Inc. for reducing their accident frequency rate by 40% or more compared to the prior year.
